Not even a joke or anything, because the way it should've gone would have taken six panels and I didn't have the space. I don't really like this or the next strip, for several reasons. Melissa needed to make an appearence, but I really didn't have time for her original introduction. Basically, how it was SUPPOSED to go, Ada invites everyone in the building to a welcome party for Jackie....at Jackie's place. Without telling Jackie she's hosting her own party. So one by one, the characters show up, and I get the intros out of the way. Melissa's the first to show up, and Jackie doesn't realise Melissa can't see until she apologises for her sloppy appearance and Melissa says it's okay, she can't see her anyway. But as it happened, the strips took off faster than I thought, and I had to scrap the original introductions. Billi has since been written out; you'll see her a couple more times, but that's it. Author's Note: While Billi has been written out, Melissa's husband Ken is still very much part of the Jackie's Fridge universe. You'll never see him; I'll never draw him. But he is quite pivotal later in the series. I'm not even close to scripting those stories yet, but believe me, it'll happen. You'll get to know Ken well enough through Melissa's moods and references to him.
