I think the only figure I got right on the first try was Jackie in the last panel, which is the most important one anyway. Ada's face, however....yeesh. And the thing I hate about parallel construction in layouts is the demand for an accurate reproduction of the previous figure in the current panel. Namely, Ada had to look the same in all three panels, which sucks when I can't get her right in ONE. I try not to trace anything unless I'm desparate, and believe me, I almost broke down and traced 'em all. Anyway. That's the Pig in the last panel. He's evil. And he's here to stay. As far as the good stuff about this strip? The lettering, which was done the week before, and the little zip cloud in the second panel. And Ada's accent is finally reading the way I hear it. Other than that, Jackie's face looks stupid in the last panel, I screwed up her pose in the first, Ada took too much coaxing to turn out....ahhhh, I'll shut up. And there's no backgrounds, either. Oh yeah--Jackie's shirts. Let's see. There's the Utah Saints tee-shirt, of course, her "In Control" tee from the telemarketer strips, the "18" basketball jersey she likes (there are two, actually--a tank top and a short sleeve), her cable-knit sweater, and her Commander Cat tee. That's six, counting both jerseys. Hmmm. Gotta work on that wardrobe. Trivia on that jersey of hers (apart from the fact that I sometimes forget the stripes on the sleeves)--it originated in a guest strip that a friend of mine did during a crossover in the Pointer. Jason Breunig drew the ice cream strip, and put Jackie in the "18" jersey. I thought it was pretty cool, so I stuck it in her closet, and along with a black tee shirt and stirrup pants, it's part of her default ensemble. Thanks, Jason!
